Description
The MPM-G2 40 panel carport shade structure can hold all size solar panels for up to a 16kW PV power system mounted on a single row of vertical pipes. Provides covered parking for four vehicles and includes foundation pipes, cross beam tubes, solar rails, assemblies, connectors, clamps and hardware. Manufactured by Preformed Line Products DPW Solar Mounting, the kit is designed to install quickly and provide a secure structure for solar panel systems anywhere. The module specific design reduces the number of components and provides for easier assembly. The MPM-G2 utilizes high-strength welded steel components and corrosion-resistant hardware for long term reliability. Seasonal tilt adjustability for maximizing production with locking tilt-angle settings. The parking structure qualifies for federal renewable energy tax credit as part of a photovoltaic solar system. DIY or Full-Service Pro Solar Installation
You can choose how to install the solar panel system. You can Do-It-Yourself (DIY), hire any contractor or handyman for labor, or we can provide Full-Service Professional installation. Most customers choose DIY to save some serious money. However you decide to go solar, we will provide the permit plans, instruction manuals and lifetime technical support. You will also have the same manufacturer warranties, and be eligible for tax credits, rebates and other incentives.
Full-service, professional solar panel system installation by a state licensed contractor includes labor, wiring, electrical setup, balance of system parts, building permit, utility approval, inspection, monitoring setup, and activation. 5 to 10 year warranty on labor. Installation services are not subject to state sales tax. Final price subject to system design and site visit. Additional fees may apply for electrical panel upgrade, conduit wiring greater than 100 ft.
Preformed Line Products DPW MPM-G2 Carport Solar Shade Canopy Installation
The carport canopy mounting kit uses a vertical steel post anchored in the ground with a concrete footing. The standard engineering calls for a 36" diameter hole at 42" depth. This time-lapse video illustrates the assembly of the solar carport. The front ground clearance can be 96" or 8' and higher.
Tools Required to Assemble the DPW MPM-G2 Ground Mount
- 1/2 inch wrench or socket for 5/16 inch module clamp hardware
- 3/4 inch wrench or socket for 1/2 inch hardware
- Torque wrench
- Ratchet wrench
- Ratchet extension bar
- 3 to 6 foot level
- Framing square
- Tape Measure
