Today's high-quality solar panels are made and tested in automated factories by some of the largest manufacturers in the world

All solar panels offered by SunWatts are UL listed. They are independently tested to Underwriter Labs listing standards for fire safety, performance, and reliability. The major independent testing bodies include CSA Group, TUV Rhineland, DNV GL, and other recognized testing authority’s. Manufacturers hire one of these independent companies to perform the tests and certify the products meet all the standards. The third-party sends the results to UL for verification and listing.

California Listed Panels

Most building permit departments and utility companies across the nation refer to the PTC Ratings for eligible equipment listed by the California Energy Commission (CEC). Submitted information is confirmed by the CEC prior to being added to the list of eligible equipment. To be added to the eligible equipment list, PV modules must meet the following criteria:

Have safety certification (ANSI/UL 1703) from a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory

Submit electrical characterization data tested by a third-party laboratory

The electrical characterization data is from testing on a single, manufacturer selected sample

Components must have a minimum 10-year warranty to protect against defects and undue degradation of electrical generation output.
