Georgia Solar Rebates

You can qualify for solar rebates in Georgia to make your own power and save money on your energy bills. Here are the latest facts about government programs to help you go solar including tax credits, rebates, renewable energy credits and net-metering.

First, Georgia has a state income tax credit of up to 35% the cost of commercial or residential solar panels. There is a cap of $10,500 per residence for solar panel systems.

Georgia is also a solar net-metering state. Typically solar panels will produce more energy than you nee during the day. You can send the extra power back to the utility grid and earn credits. To participate in this Georgia solar rebate, home solar panel systems are limited to the size of 10kW.

These incentives can be combined with the 30% Federal income tax credit for solar panel installation. There is no cap on this solar tax credit. This solar incentive lasts until December 31, 2016.
