Grid-Tied Inverter Buyer's Guide

Residential Grid-Tied Solar Inverter Buyer's Guide

These grid-tied solar inverters convert DC power into usable household AC power. Also known as central or string inverters, they work with residential solar panel systems. Inverter sizes range from 1,000 watts to 15,000 watts operating at 208V to 240V. Grid-ted inverters can be combined to accommodate larger PV arrays and handle most any power load. Our grid-tied inverters are UL certified and have been approved by the California Energy Commission. Most string inverters carry a standard 10 year warranty and some have optional extended warranties up to 20 years. Depending on their use, the power load and environmental conditions, the usual lifespan for a residential solar inverter is 15 years or more.
