Grid-Tie Solar Kits
Most properties only have a single power source, the local electric utility company. This means the property is dependent on occasional outages and frequent rate increases. A grid-tied PV power setup adds a second energy source to the home or business.
The solar panels produce electricity and send the extra power back to the utility company. When the solar panels are not producing electricity, then power comes from the utility grid. This type of setup is also commonly known as on-grid, grid-connected or a grid-intertied photovoltaic system.
SunWatts designs and sells many grid-tied package systems. We stock all of the components and assemble the power centers, so we can offer them at rock-bottom prices. These solar kits feature solar panels from the top-quality and best-selling manufacturers. We make it easy for you to compare the quality, performance and price for all the most efficient solar brands. Browse the kits here, or find your size or brand to narrow your search.
How Grid-Tie Solar Panel Systems Work
Grid-tie solar energy systems do not have batteries. A grid-tie solar system generates electricity from the sun and is connected to the house and main power grid. Solar PV grid-tie systems absorb photons of light from the sun, which produces DC current electricity. The solar inverter converts the DC current into AC current to produce electricity for your home. Any extra solar electricity can be fed back to the utility grid for a credit towards your monthly electric usage.
These complete grid-tie solar power systems include the highly efficient solar panels and inverters. Each system includes a rooftop rail mounting system for installation. Browse your options for ground mounting, rapid shutdown, battery storage, and installation.
The solar kits also include a system design, permit-ready plan, safety labels and various accessories for a complete package.
