History of Simpliphi Batteries
Simpliphi Batteries began in Hollywood in 2001. Founder and CTO, Stuart Lennox, was working in film and television as a Production Designer. Stuart used the Lee Iacocca e-bike for a commercial he was shooting, and he was impressed by the battery on it. His new interest in the e-bike battery lead to prototypes for other movie equipment, and soon Stuart found his calling in remote applications for off-grid energy storage. LibertyPak company was founded in 2002, and they later changed their name to SimpliPhi Power. They are based in California. Briggs & Stratton acquired Simpliphi in 2021.
