Always read and follow the installation instruction manuals provided with the solar panel, inverter, and mounting.

How to Install a Solar Panel Kit with String Inverter

1. Secure the roof attachment standoffs and flashing to the roof joists; add caulk as needed.
2. Attach mounting rails to the roof attachment standoffs using supplied hardware.
3. Secure the solar panel(s) to the mounting rails using the supplied mid-clamps and end-clamps.
4. Connect the solar panel cables.
5. Connect the last PV cable to a junction box or DC Safety Switch disconnect box (optional, varies by location).
6. Connect PV wires from the junction box or safety switch to the inverter.
7. Connect the inverter to a new circuit breaker in the household electrical box.
8. Contact the local building department or electric utility company to schedule inspection and connection to the grid for permission to operate.

How to Install a PV Electric System with Module Optimizers

1. Secure the roof attachment standoffs and flashing to the roof rafter joists; add caulk as needed.
2. Attach mounting rails to the roof attachment standoffs using supplied hardware.
3. Attach the module optimizers to the rails using the supplied hardware and connect the optimizer output cables into desired strings, as indicated in the electrical line drawing.
4. Connect PV wires and ground cable from the rooftop junction box or safety switch to the solar inverter.
5. Connect the inverter to an open circuit breaker in the household electrical box. Place the circuit breaker in the OFF position. The breaker size should conform to NEC standards.
6. Secure the solar panels to the mounting rails using the supplied mid-clamps and end-clamps.
7. Connect the solar panel output cables to the module optimizers.
8. Connect the last PV cable to a junction box or Safety Switch disconnect box.
9. Contact the local building department or electric utility company to schedule inspection before connection to the grid.

How to Install a Solar Panel Kit with Micro-Inverter

1. Secure the roof attachments or flashing to the roof joists; add caulk as needed.
2. Attach mounting rails to the roof attachments using supplied hardware.
3. Secure the micro-inverter(s) to the mounting rails using the supplied hardware.
4. Connect the AC inverter cables along each row of modules.
5. Connect the AC inverter cable to a junction box or AC Safety Switch disconnect box (optional, varies by location). Throw the AC safety switch to the OFF position.
6. Connect PV wires from the junction box or safety switch to an open circuit breaker in the household electrical box. Throw the solar circuit breaker to the OFF position.
7. Connect the solar panel output cables to the micro-inverter input cables.
8. Secure the solar panels to the mounting rails using the supplied mid-clamps and end-clamps.
9. Contact the local building department and / or electric utility company to schedule inspection before system activation and connection to the grid.
