Based in Santa Clara, California, MiaSolé is a photovoltaic manufacturer of lightweight, shatterproof, flexible solar cells and panels. Founded in 2004, MiaSolé became part of Hanergy, a large Chinese solar project developer, in 2012. MiaSolé has since joined the new Hanergy Solar Group as MiaSolé Hi-Tech Corp, and has grown to have manufacturing facilities in the USA and China.

MiaSolé uses CIGS (Copper, Indium, Gallium, Selenide) thin-film technology to produce solar panels now with an average 17.5% efficiency. Their flexible, shatterproof cell architecture allow for the solar panels to be applied to curved surfaces, vehicles, and a variety of structures through the use of a peel-and-stick application. MiaSolé solar panels are thin (2.5 mm) and attach directly to surfaces, which make them highly resistant to wind and natural disasters. These flexible cells are ideal for commercial roofing solar panels, carports, mobile devices, low load capacity roofs, floating reservoir and landfill membrane covers.

The MiaSolé FLEX module series currently includes the FLEX-N, FLEX-M, and FLEX-W series. The FLEX-N (70W-330W) series solar panels are designed for metal roofs providing for an unobtrusive appearance. The FLEX-M (340W-420W) series solar panels are ideal for TPO (Thermoplastic Polyolefin) and EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) membrane roofs. The FLEX-W (160W-540W) series solar panels are designed for carports and low-slope commercial roofs. All MiaSolé solar panels are made in the USA and are UL certified.

Thin-film solar cells are less efficient than silicon, but have traditionally been less expensive to make. However with the plunge in costs of silicon over the years, thin-film solar companies like MiaSolé have struggled to remain competitive.
